Viitasaari in Brief
The town of Viitasaari is located in the Province of Western Finland in northern Central Finland, at the crossroads of the E75 (E4) motorway and the scenic Blue Road route (main road 77). Viitasaari’s central location, modern services and abundant natural surroundings offer attractive living and recreational opportunities both for the town’s residents and tourists to the region.
As the sub-regional capital, the town offers all the advantages of a small town, including a secure environment, affordable living and good services as well as a wide range of cultural events held throughout the year.
Viitasaari’s unspoilt nature offers fantastic opportunities for hiking, hunting and fishing – including some world-renowned fishing rapids – plus great downhill and cross-country skiing in winter. The sub-region also offers excellent facilities and venues for other sports and recreation.
