Fishing grounds

Lake Keitele

The second biggest lake in Central Finland, Lake Keitele is a versatile fishing ground. The area of Pohjois-Keitele around Viitasaari has several harbours as well as a number of well-equipped and serviced campfire spots with lean-to shelters.

Huopanankoski

Huopanankoski is a cultural heritage landscape and one of the most renowned trout rapids in Finland. Sport fishing has been practised in these waters since the 1800's.

Keihärinkoski

The fast-flowing Keihärinkoski rapids are a superb fly fishing spot. An outdoor fireplace with grill and the village shop are located close by.

Kymönkoski

The head of the Kymönkoski rapids ranks among the best fly fishing waters in Finland and is a prime spot for migratory trout. In addition to fishing, the rapids are ideal virtually year-round for canoeing and kayaking.

Kellankoski

The easily wadable Kellankoski rapids are classic fly fishing waters. Serviced campfire sites with lean-to shelter and grill are situated at the head and foot of the rapids. Kellankoski is ideal for adventure fishing and for small business groups.

Kärnänkoski

The Kärnänkoski rapids are a beautiful spot to fish. The foot of the rapids lies in a picturesque cultural landscape, while upstream is preserved in its natural state. A cooking shelter and fireplace are located nearby.
